Sometimes the only thing that makes us equal to a determined attacker is our ability to deploy an "equalizer".

An equalizer can be a pistol, a blade, a rifle; or, it can be all three. Without the proper training though, these equalizers can be a liability to you. The more you sweat on the mat and on the range, the less you bleed in the streets!

"In-fight weapons access", as coined by Mr. Craig Douglas, (deterrents, edged weapons or fire arms inside of grappling or striking ranges) followed by casualty care (self-aid/buddy-aid) are all incorporated into three days of HARD training in this course where you will learn the following skills to help you survive the unthinkable:

  • Controlling space: The importance of time, distance, cover and concealment.
  • Shooting from compromised positions and from cover.
  • Weapon Transitions: pistol to blade, etc.
  • Edged weapons (deployment, choice of, location of, etc.).
  • The use of a firearm in and during a physical altercation.
    • Craig Douglas, the authority on this subject, refers to this as “In Fight Weapons Access”.
  • How to fight for a position of dominance before accessing any type of weapon.
  • Learn how to profile, foresee potential hazardous situations, and how to formulate a plan of action.
  • How to talk to the police if you have been involved in a lethal force encounter.
  • The psychological and physiological effects of being in a fight for your life.
  • What to do if your family is present and how to treat their injuries in the field.
  • The when, how and why to deploy a gun into the equation.
  • Stress drills that push your speed and accuracy.
  • Treatment of wounds & self-preservation techniques:
    • Tourniquet application (under stress) & combat casualty care.
  • You will learn to shoot in darkness: Our night fire portion is fantastic!!!!
  • Low light and NO light shooting techniques using either weapon mounted lights or handheld flashlight.
  • One handed weapon manipulation and malfunction clearance drills.
